Avalon Police Reports

4/21:   A resident made a report of harassment by communication.


4/22:  A resident reported that someone had stolen her vehicle.

4/23;  A motor vehicle accident occurred at the parking lot of 969 Ohio River Blvd.  Doria Quezia, 25, Sewickley was charged via summons for Driver’s required to be licensed and accident involving damage to unattended vehicle on property.


4/23:  Olivia Marshall, 35, Pgh, was arrested for DUI of alcohol.


4/24:  Following a domestic dispute, Nathan Mowry, 21, Avalon and Jasmine Wiliams, 22, Bellevue were arrested.


4/24:  Police were called to the Kingston Apartments for a harassment report.


4/24:  Police were dispatched to a business at 1015 Ohio River Blvd for a report of fraud.


4/25:  Officers responded to 631 Taylor Avenue for a report of trespassing.  Joseph Allen Lanzi, Jr., 39 of Pittsburgh was arrested.


4/26:  Officers were dispatched to the area of 717 Ohio River Blvd for a domestic violence call.  Erin Marie Grogan, Avalon, was arrested for Simple Assault and Harrassment.


4/26:  Police were dispatched to the Queensbury Apartments for a theft report.


4/29:  Officers were called to Eugene and S. Birmingham for a vehicle accident.  No one needed medical attention.


4/30:  A business at 935 Ohio River Blvd made a fraud report.  A customer attempted to pass a counterfeit $100.00 bill as legal tender.


4/30:  A motor vehicle accident occurred at 935 Ohio River Blvd involving a vehicle and pedestrian.  


4/30:  Police were called to 810 Jackman Avenue for a report of a hit and run.


5/1:  Police were dispatched to 739 Semple Avenue for a dispute between two neighbors.


5/3:  A resident reported that she lost her handgun or it was stolen.


5/3:  Police responded to a motor vehicle accident with no injuries at the intersection of Ohio River Blvd and Elizabeth Ave.


5/3:  A resident reported that someone made a fraudulent purchase on her credit card.


5/3:  The resident at 805 Center Avenue reported that a tree behind his house was about to fall onto New Brighton Road.  Avalon Volunteer Fire Department arrived and closed New Brighton Road for fear of it falling and taking electrical and communication wires with it.  Soon after, a storm came through and trees fell taking out the wires.  Wires were live and on fire for several hours.


5/5:  A resident of Marie Avenue reported that he was a victim of fraud.


5/7:  Police were called to 904 Erdner Avenue for a report of a hit and run.


5/7:  Lawrence Jeffrey Soeder,  55, Avalon was arrested for an active warrant out of the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office.


5/9:  Following a traffic stop, Jazlyn Black, 23, Duquesne was arrested for a warrant out of Butler County, driving while suspended (DUI related) and for having suspension of registration.  Marco Jocque Davis, 24, Pgh, was also cited for possessing a small amount of marijuana.


5/11:  A motor vehicle accident occurred in front of 609 California Avenue.  No injuries were reported.


5/11:  Police were called to 613 Girard Avenue for a verbal threat.


5/12:  Police were called to 744 Ohio River Blvd for a mulch/brush fire.


5/12:  Police were called to 509 California Avenue for a property damage report.


5/14:  James Eric Wilson, Jr., 34, Pittsburgh was cited for simple assault and harassment after an altercation in front of the Avalon Borough Building.
